SPICY 2025 REPORT !!

End of the Year Report in a Tasty Way

R Star Foundation has a stunning record of accomplishments since our early beginnings in 2003, too many in fact, to share here. Most are on our website.

A year ago I was in Nepal  to oversee the work we have done and to engage with past goat gifted villages.  I experienced an overwhelming fabulous State of the Art Computer Lab in place for children and teachers that benefits about 500 children a week.

The dedication of the Computer Lab was an event we have never experienced before.  We were covered by National Nepali news journalists. They witnessed how we educate children in the digital age rather than a lower standard for rural children who can’t compete in the world without what we offer them.

During Covid, Paton SO Rotary delivered a large dispatchment of reusable sanitary napkins. A Rotary youth group produced a professional teaching opportunity about the function of the female body to young pubescent girls at a local KTM school before gifting the last of the pads. It was a seamless presentation on different products available in Kathmandu, not so much the rural areas. I was able to help pass out the kits to the eager girls.

Rabindra, my lead man in Nepal, my ‘adopted’ Nepali son since 1988 got us on both a National TV programs and on the radio to expand how we began, how we continue to lift rural women with two  pregnant goats as well as microfinancing opportunities.  One journalist covering our work was so impressed, he gave sports equipment to the schools we help. We are making an impact on the Nepalese to help those they can.

Again, while I was in Nepal, we gifted a village about two  hours from KTM with goats.  It is a true RUSH to be in the midst of such wonderful people who know their lives will be forever improved with the goats.

An untouchable woman, per their caste system, greeted me at Rabin’s family home to share how she and all the villagers were ‘saved’ by the goats gifted a decade back.  Saved because the monsoons in 2024 were the worst in 85 years causing the loss of the agricultural products they sell and live from.  The goats continued producing income and because of the sale of the ‘’kids’’, they had food, medical care and tuition for school while recovering from all they lost. Can you imagine how they feel?

Because of You – A Thank You to Our Donors

On behalf of everyone at R STAR FOUNDATION, we want to extend our heartfelt gratitude for your generous support over the past year. Your contributions play a crucial role in providing a safer, nurturing, enriching and compassionate environment for rural village women, which in turn, enriches the entire village and goes beyond.

Thanks to your kindness, we are able to fulfill our mission and bring hope to those who need it most.

I wish to convey, with R Star, we do what few charities do. Our programs sustain them for LIFE, not for a day.  How many organizations can say that?    We have gained your respect to join us in this ongoing mission.  I returned home in February of last year, and we gifted yet more goats to another village within three  weeks.  In November, we joined with Gardi Media, professional journalists to gift six  new computers to highly oppressed women with talents and capabilities along with desires to work in journalism.  The purpose: To have a voice, which women do not have.  The Media group is mentoring the women for a year or until they are able to create a paid writing position.  Like R Star, they are all unpaid volunteers.

2026 First Goat Gifting Recipients

We gifted another village as 2026 began with goats and microfinancing.  Two of my Nepali grandkids and  a niece whom I held as infants, were present to see the work they have grown up with.  They were touched to their core about the difference R Star makes for the oppressed villager women to rise up financially against the odds.  My Nepali niece, granddaughter of our original goat gatherer Som, saw the gifting as a child in her own village.  She is sure she will always be involved with humanitarian efforts to support women who are sorely neglected. Now we have GenZ with us!  My heart is deeply touched.

On this end, we continue to produce brief newsletters nine  times a year and write articles which are published in general each month or more. We also look for the best of ways to campaign successfully to bring in necessary funds to continue, as always, without pay to any of us in the USA or Nepal.  Our funds (97%) go to our projects, not to rent or paychecks.

R Star is locally active, but not with goats.
