American Legion and R Star: Christmas cards for soldiers

Rosalind Russell, usually known as the Goat Lady with her R Star Foundation “Women Helping Women & Children in Nepal”, is not exclusive to who she extends her help and caring. The American Legion’s Auxiliary Treasurer Diane Connell requested help with getting 1000 Christmas cards personally written to be sent to those serving our country overseas. Rosalind stepped forward by writing over 250 on her own.

Asked why she would do that let alone find the time, Rosalind replied how she loves and appreciates those who serve our country; so finding time was not difficult. She too has a light military background having served during the Vietnam war as a ‘sky goddess’ as she refers to herself, and was in Vietnam. She flew military flights with MATS as a 2nd Lieutenant.

One of her other tributes to our soldiers during that era was to write every soldier who requested she write them until they stopped writing her. “If they can serve us on the ground in danger,” stated Rosalind, “I knew the least I could do was write them as my way of action in appreciation for their service”.

Diane and Rosalind are collaborating on how to do far more for next year.
